What is iftar

Iftar is a meal after Maghrib prayer . Muslims fast for the whole 30 days in a month of Ramadan.

These days two meals occur for Muslims .
The first one is at before fajr prayer and the second one is at after Maghrib prayer that is called Iftar .

People fast in Ramadan month and break their fast after the adhan of Maghrib . The thing is called Iftar.

People fast during Ramadan and then gather at that time of Iftar to break their fast that is at Maghrib adhan .

They break their fast with a glass of water and 3 dates initially then they eat their whole dinner.

To break fast with a glass of water and three dates is the sunnah of Huzoor Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.

Muslims also feed iftar to others during Ramzan. It is also a work of Charity and Sunnah too.

To feed others during or not during Ramadan is a work of Charity and sadqah al zariya too . Saqa saves us from evil , so it is very important to do sadqa .

Dua for iftar

When we fast then there is a dua to break our fast that is called Dua for iftar .

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْنَا وَ عَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْنَا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

There is another Dua that was narrated by the Prophet at the time of breaking fast and he said that if a person reads this Dua every time he breaks his fast then his Sins fall off and he cleanses from his Sins like the day he was born .
